(A) No person shall discharge, shoot, force, or throw by means of any firearm, air gun, or other arm or implement a lead, iron, or other hard substance upon a street, alley, lane, or public place, or within the corporate limits of the city.
(B) However, this section does not apply to:
(1) A law enforcement officer;
(2) A member of the armed forces acting in the capacity of military duty;
(3) A person acting in defense of his or her own person or property, or those of another person, to the extent deemed reasonable and justifiable by law; or
(4) An owner of a tract or parcel, or adjacent tracts or parcels, of real estate having a size of not less than ten acres, or an individual with written permission on his or her person from such an owner:
(a) Within the boundary lines of the real estate tract(s) or parcel(s);
(b) Is more than 300 feet from a neighboring residence; and
(c) Is possessing or discharging a firearm or hunting in compliance with all laws and regulations of the state.
