Building Department
EDITOR'S NOTE:  The Building Department of the City has been certified by the Ohio Board of Building Standards to enforce the Ohio Basic Building Code (OBBC).  However, Ordinance 92-13, passed May 26, 1992, which authorized a request to the Board for such certification, also authorized an Agreement with the Summit County Building Department providing for such County Building Department to accept and approve plans and specifications, perform all inspections and exercise enforcement authority in the City, as necessary, in accordance with the OBBC, except for Chapter 4101:2-51 (Plumbing) of the OBBC (now Chapters 4101:2-56 through 4101:2-69 of the OBBC), which is to be enforced by the Summit County Board of Health.  Resolution 92-R32, passed May 26, 1992, adopted such Agreement.  Resolution 92-R54, passed October 20, 1992, reaffirmed the authority of the City's Building Department to utilize the County Building Department for inspections and enforcement of the OBBC, as a condition of the City Building Department's certification by the Ohio Board of Building Standards, which certification was granted on September 18, 1992.  Copies of Ordinance 92-13, Resolution 92-R32, Resolution 92-R54 and the Agreement with the County Building Department may be obtained, at cost, from the Clerk of Council.
