(A) The authorized strength in the classification of part-time dispatcher is hereby set at 12.
(B) The authorized strength in the classification of part-time firefighter is hereby set at 20.
(C) The authorized strength in the classification of secretary is hereby set at one.
(D) The Fire Chief is hereby authorized to maintain the part-time staffing at the levels established by this section.
(E) When it is necessary to fill a vacancy or vacancies to maintain the authorized level established by this section, the Fire Chief may recommend for hire, the Mayor and/or the Public Safety Director may approve, and Council may confirm, by motion, with a majority affirmative vote, the hiring of replacement employees in the part-time classifications within the Fire Department.
(F) All persons so hired shall be paid at the rate of compensation then in effect for part-time probationary employees in the classification into which they are hired.
