(A) Housing or residential areas. In all housing or residential areas, fire hydrants shall be placed not more than five hundred (500) feet apart, not more than ten (10) feet from the roadway, and not more than three hundred (300) feet from the structure or building it serves. All distances shall be measured over all weather roads.
(B) Commercial development areas. In all commercial development areas, fire hydrants shall be placed not more than three hundred (300) feet apart, not more than two hundred (200) feet from the buildings or structures it is intended to serve, and not more than ten (10) feet from the roadway. No part of the exterior of the buildings or structures shall be further than five hundred (500) feet from the fire hydrant. All distances shall be measured by the shortest feasible exterior route.
(C) Fire hydrants installed after the effective date of this article shall be at least twenty (20) feet from any structure, other than existing lines. No new construction shall be started within twenty-five feet (25) feet of any existing fire hydrant.
