Upon the filing of a petition for appeal, the City of Grayson shall take no further action in furtherance of the action appealed from unless the City Code Enforcement Officer and/or the Fire Chief from whom the appeal is taken certifies to the Board of Zoning Adjustments and Appeals that by reason of facts stated in the Condemnation Notice, it would, in his/her opinion, cause imminent peril to life or property. In such cases, proceedings may be stayed only by a restraining order which may be granted by the Board of Zoning Adjustments and Appeals or the Carter Circuit Court upon application to it, with notice to the City Code Enforcement Officer and/or the City Fire Chief from whom the appeal is taken and on due cause shown.
