(A) Except during a period of probation, members of the Auxiliary Police shall have all of the powers and authority and shall be subject to all the duties as members of the regular Police Department of the city, except that the power of arrest shall be limited to those times when performing police functions, and only when authorized by the Chief of Police or his designated representative.
(B) Even in circumstances where the power of arrest has been authorized, the power shall be subject to all rules and regulations of the Police Department and all statues and ordinances applicable thereto.
(C) It is specifically provided, however, that membership in the Auxiliary Police shall not be construed in any manner to be membership in the regularly constituted Police Department, nor shall any member of the Auxiliary Police be entitled to any right and privilege of compensation, pension, or any other similar right, privilege, or employment attaching to membership in the regularly constituted Police Department.
