The Police Chief shall post bond conditioned upon his or her proper discharge of his or her duties in the amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00), with sufficient surety to the satisfaction of the Mayor and the Council. The Police Chief shall take the prescribed constitutional oath of office prior to undertaking his or her duties.
