§ 31.40 CITATION OFFICER.
   (A)   The city hereby creates the nonelective office of Citation Officer. The Citation Officer shall insure the enforcement of the laws set forth in the Development Code for all of the county, including the zoning district regulations, the metropolitan subdivision regulations and the sign chapter, all as may be amended from time to time; issue citations for any violation with respect thereto; make reports to the City Council, and any other board, council, court and organization necessary for the effective enforcement of regulations and ordinances. No bond shall be required of this office. Prior to taking office, the Citation Officer shall take an oath to faithfully perform the duties of the office and attest that he or she possesses the requisite qualifications for the office. The Citation Officer shall be paid a salary as set forth in city ordinance.
   (B)   This nonelective office shall be appointed by the Mayor of the city with the approval of the City Council.
