Recreational fires, including bonfires, on private property are permitted when in a fire pit, fireplace or other enclosure designed for recreational fires, subject to the following provisions.
(A) No burning shall be allowed within 20 feet of an existing building or five feet of a property line when no adjacent building is within 15 feet of said property line. No such burning shall be permitted on any public paved surface.
(B) Burning shall be done in containers or areas with nonflammable containment rings measuring less than 15 square feet (three-foot diameter) in area.
(C) Fires are attended until extinguished and ashes are cold.
(D) Only clean, untreated wood products (including seasoned/dead shrubbery, brush or tree clippings) or commercially produced fuel products are burned.
(E) Atmospheric conditions are favorable.
(F) The fire does not produce emissions of dense smoke or fumes which irritate, annoy or constitute a nuisance to others living in the vicinity.
(G) No such burning shall be done at any time or place when wind conditions will create or be apt to create a nuisance to anyone, or to the property of anyone, in the vicinity thereof, or be a danger to the property of any person in the vicinity thereof.
(H) No such burning shall be done where its maximum size is not controllable by one person of mature years and discretion.
(I) No burning shall be done unless an adequate water supply or fire extinguisher is available at the burning site to control the fire.
