Candidates for Council shall file nominating petitions with the Licking County Board of Elections not later than a date and time specified by the Board of Elections, prior to the general election. Such petitions shall contain the signatures of not fewer than twenty-five qualified electors of the municipality.
The number of candidates receiving the highest number of votes for the number of vacancies on Council shall be elected. Except as otherwise provided in the Charter, such election shall be conducted in accordance with Title 35 of the Ohio Revised Code.
