The Municipal Engineer, or such other engineer as Council may hire for that purpose shall, immediately upon the taking effect of this chapter, measure off in accordance with the plans named herein, around each block, and make a record in a book provided for that purpose the location of each number of such twenty foot space and the proper number of the doors in the streets of the houses, stores and buildings as they are now located, which book shall be placed in the custody of the Clerk of Council and open to the inspection of all concerned. The cost of such survey shall be paid by the Municipality as other current expenses.
