141.03 POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE FIRE CHIEF.
   (a)   The Fire Chief shall be the commanding officer of the Granville Volunteer Fire Department and shall have control of the assignment of the members thereof, and the direction of the fire protection and prevention work of the Town. He shall have full and complete authority to issue such general or special orders to the members of the Granville Fire Department as he may deem proper, and it is the duty of all members of the Granville Volunteer Fire Department to render him and his order implicit obedience. He shall have authority to promulgate rules and regulations for the efficient administration of the Granville Volunteer Fire Department, the enforcement of discipline, and the supervision and maintenance of the work of the Granville Volunteer Fire Department. The Fire Chief shall be responsible for the control and regulation of all equipment belonging to the Granville Volunteer Fire Department. The Fire Chief shall have such additional powers and perform such other duties as may be prescribed by law. Provided, however, that the powers and duties described in this paragraph shall only apply to fire fighting activities within the Town limits of the Town of Granville.
   (b)   The Fire Chief shall also perform all duties necessary to comply with the rules and regulations of the West Virginia State Fire Commission regarding fire departments in the State of West Virginia and shall further perform such duties as may from time to time be dictated by Town Council.
