The Town Board of Trustees may authorize the appointment of reserve officers who shall serve only on a part-time basis. Within one year from the date of appointment, each reserve officer shall obtain a certificate attesting the satisfactory completion of a basic reserve officer’s training course of a minimum of 120 hours and as approved by the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training.
