(A) It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police and any police officers to enforce the traffic regulations of the Town of Granite, Oklahoma, and all of the state vehicle laws applicable to traffic in said municipality, to make arrests for traffic violations, to investigate accidents, to cooperate with other municipal officials in the administration of the traffic laws and in developing ways to improve traffic conditions and to carry out those duties specifically imposed upon the officers by this title and any other traffic or related ordinances of said municipality.
(B) The Chief of Police and his or her assistants are authorized to direct all traffic by voice, hand or signal in conformance with traffic laws and ordinances. In the event of a fire, other emergency or to expedite traffic or safeguard pedestrians, such officers may direct traffic as conditions may require, notwithstanding the provisions of the traffic laws and ordinances.
(C) Firefighters, when at the scene of a fire, may direct or assist the police in directing traffic.
