All gas ranges, heaters, water heaters and furnaces must be vented into a brick flue in fire limits and satisfactory fireproof flues in all other places and in such manner as to permit a free outlet for all fumes
or escaping gas. All vent pipes passing through wood partitions must be protected by thimble with proper air space, except that no vent pipe shall pass through any closet or pantry used for the storage of clothing, household goods or any combustible material.
