§ 7-2-15 PAYMENT TO AVOID PROSECUTION; PARTICULAR OFFENSES.
   The owner or driver of any vehicle or any pedestrian who is issued a traffic violation notice for violating any of the provisions of this chapter may avoid prosecution for violating this chapter by paying within seven days of the time of the issuance of such notice of traffic violation to such officer or other person as may be designated by the Chief of Police or the Board of Trustees the sum of $1 for any pedestrian violation, the sum of $1 for all overtime parking offenses, the sum of $5 for parking in a restricted zone established under the provisions of the parking and traffic ordinance; the sum of $5 for double parking, the sum of $2 for all other parking offenses, and by surrendering to such police officer or designated person the traffic violation notice delivered to him or her or placed upon such vehicle, after indicating thereon his or her name, street address, and city of residence. If such owner or driver or pedestrian fails to pay an amount designated in the preceding sentence within seven days of such violation, he or she may avoid prosecution for violating this chapter only by paying double the amount specified above for his or her violation before a complaint is filed.
