§ 6-1-15 SECURITY WORK OUTSIDE OF CITY EMPLOYMENT.
   (A)   It is the policy of the village that off-duty police officers who perform security duties for other employers are not agents of the village and shall not wear village police uniforms, or hold themselves out to the public as being village police officers, nor use village police radios or other equipment while engaged in security duties for other employers. This policy shall apply whether an officer is performing security functions within or without the corporate limits of the village, and it shall apply whether an officer is performing security functions for private or public employers; however, this policy is not intended to prohibit the village police officers from assisting other agencies of government pursuant to the terms of any mutual aid agreement.
   (B)   This policy shall apply to full-time, part-time, and auxiliary police officers. Violations of this policy will subject police officers to disciplinary proceedings up to and including discharge.
