For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
DROUGHT BURNING BAN. A ban on all burning of landscape waste by proclamation of the Village President during the existence of drought conditions.
DROUGHT CONDITIONS. The existence within the village of drought conditions of at least D2 intensity level (moderate severity) as published from time to time on the National Drought Mitigation Center. http://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/.
LANDSCAPE WASTE. Has the same definition as in the Environmental Protection Act: all accumulations of grass or shrubbery cuttings, leaves, tree limbs, and other materials accumulated as the result of the care of lawns, shrubbery, vines, and trees.
RECREATIONAL FIRE. A wood or charcoal fire continuously maintained during a social gathering of two or more persons.
YARD WASTE. Grass clippings and leaves, and excludes all other types of landscape waste.
