The following rules shall govern pick-ups by the village of tree limbs and branches.
(A) Limbs and branches will be picked up and removed on the first Monday of each month beginning in April and ending in November. If the first Monday is a holiday, pick-ups will be made on the first Tuesday.
(B) Only two categories of tree limbs and branches are eligible for pick-up and removal by the village:
(1) Limbs or branches that have fallen from trees; and
(2) Limbs or branches that have been pruned as part of routine tree maintenance.
(C) In no event shall the village pick up and remove:
(1) Limbs, branches, or logs resulting from tree removal; or
(2) Any limb or branch longer than six feet or more than four inches in diameter.
(D) Limbs and branches will not be picked up unless:
(1) They are segregated from other yard or other waste (e.g., leaf piles or grass clippings); and
(2) They are placed for pick-up in an orderly pile in a village ditch.
(E) The Street Department may refuse to pick up and remove any limbs, branches, or other materials which it believes to be in violation of these rules, subject to the right of appeal of the property owner to the Village Board at the Village Board’s next regularly scheduled Board meting.
(F) The Street Department may refuse to pick up and remove a pile or collection of limbs where any portion thereof is in violation of these rules.
