(a) The Director of Public Safety shall designate such major traffic arterials and other streets deemed necessary thoroughfares for the movement of vehicular traffic as snow emergency routes and shall determine the appropriate parking restrictions for said routes. The Director of Public Safety shall then cause all streets and roads to be marked and identified as snow emergency routes by placing proper signs of sufficient size and legibility along such streets or roads in a sufficient number than will give proper and adequate notice to persons using such streets or roads that such streets or roads are emergency routes.
(b) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
