The President and Board of Trustees may appoint a Village Treasurer as soon as may be after the commencement of each fiscal year. The Treasurer shall be a citizen of the United States, a qualified elector, reside within the village limits, shall hold office for one year and until his, her, or their successor is appointed and qualified.
