It shall be unlawful for any person to erect, maintain, or operate any awning, unless the same shall be at least eight feet above the sidewalk level, in the clear, including all curtain drops, nor shall the same be supported by any posts, rods, or braces extending below a height of eight feet above the sidewalk level.
