§ 31.041 OATH; BOND.
   (A)   The Village Clerk, before entering upon the duties of this office shall take the oath as nearly as may be in the form prescribed as follows: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Illinois, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office of Clerk of the Village of Grand Ridge, Illinois, according to the best of my ability.”
   (B)   The Village Clerk shall execute a bond to the village in the penal sum of $500, with such sureties as may be approved by the Board of Trustees, conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of his, her, or their office, which bond shall be filed with the Village Treasurer.
