(A) It shall be the duties of the standing committees of the Board of Trustees to maintain close watch of the affairs of their respective departments of the village government. They shall report to the Board such facts as they deem of importance in connection therewith.
(B) Each committee shall promptly and thoroughly investigate and report, upon all matters referred to it by the Board, and the Chairperson thereof shall promptly return to the Village Clerk all petitions, communications, and other papers which have been delivered to him, her, or them.
(C) The committees shall perform such other and further duties as the Board of Trustees may from time to time direct.
