It shall be the duty of the Building Inspector or such other officer or employee as may be designated by the Mayor, to enforce the provisions of this chapter and to make such inspections or tests as may be necessary in connection therein. Whenever a test is necessary to determine whether any equipment or method complies with the standards prescribed or referred to in this chapter, the enforcing official may accept the results of a test conducted by or under the supervision of the Underwriters’ Laboratories, Inc.
