§ 1022.03 DANGEROUS SIDEWALKS AND CROSSWALKS.
   Whenever any , crosswalk or approach, or any portion of the same, by reason of defects or for want of repair, becomes dangerous to persons passing along and upon the same, it be the duty of the city to tear up and remove the dangerous portions, or cause such removal to be done, and replace the , crosswalk or approach with earth or gravel, if required, so as to make it safe for persons passing along and upon the space from which the , crosswalk or approach has been removed.
