(a) Failure to comply with the Michigan Mechanical, Electrical or Plumbing Codes shall constitute a violation of this chapter. Each day that there is such a failure to comply will constitute a separate offense.
(b) Violation of the State Mechanical, Electrical or Plumbing Codes shall be deemed to be a nuisance per se. Any person or anyone acting on behalf of any such person who shall violate any provisions of said codes, or who shall fail to comply with any requirements thereof, shall be in violation of a municipal civil infraction as provided in the city’s code of ordinances § 202.99. A violator shall also be subject to such additional sanctions, remedies and judicial orders as are authorized under state law, including costs and attorney fees.
