§ 1226.01 REQUIREMENTS AND COVENANTS GENERALLY; DEFINITIONS.
   (a)   The following minimum requirements and specifications for streets, alleys and utilities apply to all proposed plats, condominiums and land divisions coming under the jurisdiction of the city in accordance with state and local laws or ordinances.
   (b)   As used in this chapter:
      AASHO. The American Association of State Highway Officials.
      ASTM. The American Society for Testing Materials.
      CITY’S SPECIFICATIONS. This chapter.
      CONDOMINIUM ACT. Public Act 59 of 1978, being M.C.L.A. §§ 559.101 through 559.272, as amended.
      DEVELOPMENT. Either a PLAT or a CONDOMINIUM as defined in this section, respectively.
      DPW. The City Department of Public Works, its supervisor or authorized representative.
      ENGINEER. The City Consulting Engineer or his or her authorized representative, or an engineer appointed by the city. The City Engineer shall be licensed by the state.
      INSPECTION. The close observation and examination of the various construction operations as a means of determining the acceptability of completed streets.
      MDOT. The Michigan Department of Transportation.
      MDOT SPECIFICATIONS. The MDOT 2020 Standard Specifications for Construction, current editions and Supplemental Specifications thereto as issued by the Michigan Department of Transportation.
      PLAT ACT. Public Act 288 of 1967, being M.C.L.A. §§ 560.101 through 560.293, as amended, formally titled the Land Division Act and popularly known as the Plat Act.
      PROPRIETOR or DEVELOPER. A natural person, firm, association, partnership, corporation, or any combination thereof, which may hold any ownership interest in land, whether recorded or not.
      SURVEYOR. As defined in the Subdivision Control Act, Public Act 288 of 1967, being M.C.L.A. §§ 560.101 et seq., and in the Condominium Act, being Public Act 58 of 1978, being M.C.L.A. §§ 559.101 et seq. A surveyor shall be licensed by the state.
