The Village Engineer shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the majority of the membership of Council. He or she may be removed from office by the Mayor, but such removal shall not take place without the concurrence of the majority of the membership of Council.
He or she shall have charge of all public works and improvements and of all engineering and inspections in connection therewith; he or she shall have charge of the making and preservation of all surveys, maps, plans, drawings and estimates for public work.
He or she shall perform such other duties consistent with his or her office as may be required by this Charter, by ordinance of the Council or as directed by the Mayor.
