The Building Inspector shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the majority of the membership of Council. He or she may be removed from office by the Mayor, but such removal shall not take place without the concurrence of the majority of the membership of Council.
The Building Inspector shall be responsible for the administration and enforcement of the Building and Zoning Codes and ordinances of the Municipality, and for the issuance of such permits and the collection of such fees as may be required by these Codes and ordinances.
He or she shall perform such other duties, consistent with his or her office, as may be required by this Charter or by ordinance of the Council, or as directed by the Mayor.
