(a) Any full-time employee who has worked for this Village or any other political subdivision within the United States of America on a full-time basis, excluding military service of any kind or description, shall be credited with time served when computing vacation and sick leave.
(b) Employees who elect to retire shall be paid a lump sum equal to 50% of unused sick leave credit to a maximum of 45 days and 50% of days of vacation time.
