256.02   HOLIDAYS.
   (a)   The paid holidays referred to in this section are:
      (1)   New Year's Day
      (2)   President's Day
      (3)   Good Friday
      (4)   Memorial Day
      (5)   Independence Day
      (6)   Labor Day
      (7)   Thanksgiving Day
      (8)   The Friday after Thanksgiving Day
      (9)   Christmas Day
   (b)   All full-time employees of the Village shall receive the paid holidays designated in division (a) of this section. Any full-time employee who is scheduled to work on one of such paid holidays may have that day off with pay for eight hours, the number of hours normally scheduled for that day. Full-time employees who work on the actual holiday will receive one and one-half pay for hours worked in addition to regular holiday pay. Part-time employees who work on the actual holiday receive one and one-half pay for hours worked.
   (c)   Full-time or part-time employees who are not scheduled to work on the actual holiday, but who are called out to work because of one or more emergencies, will receive one and one-half pay for hours worked.
   (d)   Full-time or part-time employees shall receive one and one-half pay for hours worked on either the actual holiday or on the observed day of the holiday, but such employees may not receive one and one-half pay for both days.
   (e)   Any unexcused absence on the last scheduled day before a paid holiday or on the first scheduled day after a paid holiday shall cancel holiday pay.
   (f)   Department heads shall keep the number of paid holidays worked to a minimum, consistent with the safety and welfare of the residents of the Village.
   (g)   Any holiday which falls on a weekend will be observed on the nearest workday to the legal holiday.
