(a) There is hereby established in and for the Village the position of Assistant Police Prosecutor. Such position shall be filled by the appointment of the Mayor, with the approval of Council. No person may be considered for appointment to the position unless he or she is a licensed practicing attorney in the State.
(b) The Assistant Police Prosecutor shall be compensated for all time spent in court or in preparation for court appearances on behalf of the Village at the hourly rate paid to the Law Director for court appearances.
