(a) There is hereby established a Law Enforcement Trust Fund to be operated in accordance with the requirements of Ohio R.C. 2923.35, provided that the funds therein shall only be expended to pay the cost of protracted or complex investigations or prosecutions; to provide reasonable technical training or expertise; to provide matching funds to obtain Federal grants to aid law enforcement; or for such other law enforcement purposes that Council deems to be appropriate.
(b) The funds paid into the Law Enforcement Trust Fund may not be used to meet the operating needs of the Village that are not related to law enforcement.
(c) The Clerk-Treasurer is hereby authorized to establish an account to receive the monies paid into the Fund and to establish the procedures necessary to make expenditures from such account for the above-described purposes.
