(a) No residential dwelling building plan may be accepted, and no construction permit shall be issued for a single-family residential home, unless the plans contain specifications for an enclosed parking area of not less than 300 square feet. If the structure to be constructed is for a double occupancy residential unit or a multioccupancy residential unit, a minimum of 300 square feet of enclosed parking area shall be set aside for each separate residential unit.
(b) The requirements for an enclosed parking area of not less than 300 square feet for each residential unit, as set forth in subsection (a) hereof, need not be incorporated into the construction plans for such unit as an attachment to the main structure.
