1044.03   CONNECTIONS GENERALLY.
   (a)   Only a licensed plumber approved by the Village or an employee of the Sewer Department shall be permitted to tap mains. In general, and as required or ordered, provision shall be made in the sewer for the house connection by the insertion of a tilted-up Y branch for each connection properly stoppered and marked. House connections shall be connected to the Y branch by means of suitable curves and shall extend from the main to a point one foot inside the inside sidewalk line and shall include a six-inch clean-out tee. The top of the Y branch shall be approximately seven feet below grade or at such elevation to properly receive the house connection with full regard to the slope from the house.

   (b)   All residences and places of business where sewer service has been made available must install house sewers and make use by a service connection to the sewerage system in accordance with Ohio R.C. 729.51. Permission will not be granted to supply two or more buildings fronting on the same street from a single service tap. (Ord. 673.   Passed 3-3-64.)
   (c)   Building sewer connections shall be brought to a building at an elevation four feet above the basement floor. No building sewer shall be laid parallel to within three feet of any bearing wall, which may thereby be weakened. The depth shall be sufficient to offer protection from frost. All building sewers shall be a maximum of 4½ feet below the first floor finished floor elevation. Any wastes discharged below this elevation including water closets, showers, floor drain and washers, shall be pumped to this elevation. Bi-level construction shall be 3½ feet below average finished grade of the lot. The building sewer shall be laid at uniform grade and in straight alignment insofar as possible. Changes in direction shall be made only with properly curved pipe and fittings.
