(A) There is hereby created a Town Planning Commission within and for the town. Said commission shall consist of five members, one to be designated from among its own members by the Town Council, and four at-large members to be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Town Council from among qualified electors of the town. Members shall be selected without respect to political affiliations and shall serve without compensation except for reasonable expenses. Each at-large member of the commission shall be appointed to an individual term by the Mayor; one member to a term of two years, one member to a term of three years, one member to a term of four years, and one member to a term of five years, or until his or her successor is appointed.
(B) Members of the Planning Commission shall serve without pay and may be removed for cause by the Mayor if written charges are filed with the Mayor. The member in question may request a public hearing prior to removal. Vacancies in the membership of the Commission shall be filled for the remainder of the term in the same manner as the original appointment.
