In pursuance of authority conferred by the S.C. Code 1976 §§ 6-9-10 et seq. and to facilitate proper inspection activities by the city relating to construction and maintenance of buildings within the corporate limits and to promote public safety, health and general welfare, the Mayor and Councilmembers do hereby ordain and enact into law this chapter.
