Any person who shall, by any means whatsoever, bribe, persuade or induce any witness to be absent from the Municipal Court or to fail to appear and testify, when notified to do so, or who bribes, persuades or induces any person to swear falsely on any trial, or who attempts to bribe, persuade or induce any witness to be absent from court when properly notified to be present, or to swear falsely on any trial, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
