Curb stop boxes shall be installed as near as possible to the curb if on a street or within one foot of the alley line if the main is located in the alley. They shall be installed at an approximate depth of seven feet below the established grade and shall be left in an accurate vertical position when backfilling is completed. They shall also have an extension riser connected directly to the curb stop on any new construction and replacement construction.
