Each taximeter installed under this chapter must be installed so as to be driven direct from the taxicab transmission or connected with the speedometer driving shaft to the taximeter head itself and it shall be placed in each taxicab so that the reading dial showing the amount to be charged shall be easily seen and read by a passenger riding in any part of the taxicab.
