§ 114.17 PUBLIC HEARING.
   Upon the filing of an application, the City Clerk shall be notified and shall fix a time and place for a public hearing thereon. Notice of such hearing shall be given to the applicant and to all persons to whom certificates of public convenience and necessity have been theretofore issued. Due notice shall also be given the general public by posting a notice of such hearing in the city hall and by advertising such in the local newspaper(s). Any interested person may file with the City Clerk a letter or memorandum in support or opposition to the issuance of a certificate. Prior to the designated date of public hearing, the Police Department shall have examined the vehicle(s) of the applicant in order to determine its condition and the applicant's eligibility for license. In addition, the Police Department shall have ascertained if the applicant has made appropriate arrangements to comply with the insurance requirements as established by the City Council for the provision of taxicab or limousine service within the city.
