(A) Each new or re-hire employee or officer of the city shall be on a probationary period for the first six months starting on the first full day of work after the date of hire. Employees who are promoted or transferred within the city must complete a secondary introductory period of the same length with each reassignment to a new position.
(B) If the Department Head or designee determines that the designated probationary period does not allow sufficient time to thoroughly evaluate the employee’s performance, the probation period may be extended for a specific period.
