There is hereby adopted by the city for the purpose of establishing a system of requirements for fire prevention and safety and for enforcement and inspection related thereto that certain Fire Prevention Code published by the American Insurance Association, being particularly the 1976 edition thereof and the whole thereof, save and except portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified or amended, of which one copy has been and now is filed in the office of the City Secretary and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out in length herein, and from the date on which this section shall take effect, the provisions thereof shall be controlling in the matters treated therein.
