The following words and phrases, when used in this title, shall have the meaning ascribed to them by this section. All terminology used in this title, and not specifically defined herein, shall retain its meaning in conformance with applicable publications of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) or its successor body or, if not defined therein, the latest volume of Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary.
APPLICANT: | A person in the process of applying for a permit under this title. |
BUILDING OFFICIAL: | A person authorized by the city manager to perform the duties prescribed in this title. |
CONTRACTOR: | A person that has a license approved by the state who performs work to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert, or demolish any building, structure, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical work in the city. |
PERSON: | Any individual, corporation, or other legal entity. |
REGISTRATION: | The process of obtaining a license to perform work as a contractor in the city. |
STRUCTURE: | Any building, facility or dwelling of any nature or design, and it is the intent to give the broadest interpretation to the meaning of the term. (Ord. 796, 12-13-2021) |
