9-1-13: POLLUTION OF WATER SUPPLY; CROSS CONNECTION CONTROL:
   A.   Pollution Prohibited: It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to deposit excrement or foul or decaying matter in, or in any manner to corrupt, any reservoir or other source of water used for domestic purposes, or to aid or abet in any such act. (2002 Code § 13.04.250)
   B.   Cross Connection Control:
      1.   No service connection shall be allowed to any city water mains for any premises supplied by water from any other source unless the city utility service department grants permission. The city utility service department may terminate such permission at any time. The city utility service department shall have power to prescribe reasonable regulations for the use of water from another source on premises having a connection with the water system.       2.   It is unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to cause a connection to be made or to allow one to exist for any purpose whatsoever between the city water supply and any other supply upon his, her or its premises, and where another supply exists upon any premises, the owner shall be required to make a customer's declaration of nonexistence of cross connection upon a form supplied by the city before he, she or it shall be permitted to obtain or continue to use water from the city water system.
      3.   City water service shall be discontinued from any premises upon which there is found to be a connection between the city water supply and another water supply, and such service shall not be restored until such cross connection has been discontinued. (2002 Code § 13.04.190)
