7-8-5: LIGHTS:
   A.   Headlamps:
      1.   Every motor vehicle, other than a motorcycle or motor driven cycle, shall be equipped with at least two (2) headlamps with at least one on each side of the front of the motor vehicle, which headlamps shall comply with the requirements and limitations set forth in this subsection.       2.   Lights required on motorcycles and motor driven cycles shall be as provided in subsection 7-9-7A6 of this title. (2002 Code § 10.24.090; amd. 2013 Code)
      3.   Every headlamp upon every motor vehicle, including every motorcycle and motor driven cycle, shall be located at a height measured from the center of the headlamp of not more than fifty four inches (54") nor less than twenty four inches (24") to be measured from the center of such lamp or device to the level ground upon which the vehicle stands when such vehicle is without a load.    B.   Lighted Plates: Every motor vehicle, trailer, semitrailer and pole trailer shall have either a taillamp or a separate lamp which shall be so constructed and placed as to illuminate with a white light the rear registration plate and render it clearly legible from a distance of fifty feet (50') to the rear. Any taillamp or taillamps, together with any separate lamp for illuminating the rear registration plate, shall be so wired as to be lighted whenever the headlamps, clearance lamps, or auxiliary driving lamps are lighted.    C.   Use Of Lights Required: Every vehicle upon a highway within the city, at any time from one-half (1/2) hour after sunset to one-half (1/2) hour before sunrise and at any other time when, due to insufficient light or unfavorable atmospheric conditions, persons on the highway are not clearly discernible at a distance of five hundred feet (500') ahead, shall display lighted lamps and illuminating devices as required by state law for different classes of vehicles, subject to exceptions with respect to parked vehicles.    D.   Glaring Light Prohibited:
      1.   No stop lamp or signal lamp shall project a glaring light.
      2.   Whenever a driver of a vehicle approaches an oncoming vehicle within five hundred feet (500'), such driver shall use a distribution of light or composite beam so aimed that the glaring rays are not projected into the eyes of the oncoming driver.
      3.   The driver of a vehicle following within two hundred feet (200') of another vehicle shall use a distribution of light so aimed that glaring rays are not reflected into the eyes of driver in front.
   E.   Fog Lamps: Usage of fog lights or similar lights on a motor vehicle, in addition to the regular headlights, shall only be used when fog or similar weather conditions exist. (2002 Code § 10.24.100)
