7-1-4: VEHICLE LICENSING AND INSURANCE:
   A.   License Required: It is unlawful to operate a vehicle of any kind upon a street or highway of the city without a state vehicle license as may be required by law or to fail to display the state vehicle license as may be required by law. (2002 Code § 10.08.210)
   B.   Insurance Required:
      1.   Any owner or operator of a vehicle licensed in Oklahoma must produce for inspection, upon the request of any police officer, a valid and current security verification form or equivalent form approved by the department of public safety. (2002 Code § 10.08.050; amd. 2013 Code)
      2.   All operators of motor vehicles shall be required and shall be responsible for carrying within the motor vehicle verification of insurance liability coverage upon such motor vehicle. Such insurance liability coverage shall be in force and effect at any and all times that the motor vehicle is driven upon public streets, highways, thoroughfares or rights of way. (2002 Code § 10.08.050)
      3.   Any owner or operator of a motor vehicle who fails to have verification of insurance coverage shall, upon conviction, be guilty of an offense punishable as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code and as set forth in the municipal bond schedule adopted by the governing body as provided in section 1-11-19 of this code and, in addition thereto, shall be subject to suspension of the driving privilege of such person.
