A. The city council desires to comply with Idaho Code 54-5209 and will require all contractors to provide a contractor's registration number or claim an exemption when applying for a building permit.
B. The city council desires to suspend or revoke any building permit when a contractor provides the city with a false registration number, claiming a false exemption status, or hiring unregistered subcontractors that do not qualify for exempt status.
C. The city council chooses to impose a penalty prescribed in Idaho Code 54-5217 and violation of the registration requirements is a misdemeanor punishable by a one thousand dollar ($1,000.00) fine, up to six (6) months in jail or both. (Res. 06-01, 1-10-2006)
