The board of police commissioners created pursuant to the Village's Home Rule authority shall consist of three (3) members whose terms of office shall be three (3) years and until their respective successors shall be appointed and shall have qualified.
As of February 17, 2022, there are two (2) members currently serving. The current vacancy existing of one member has a term expiring April 30, 2022. The second member is currently serving a term expiring April 30, 2023; the third member is currently serving a term expiring April 30, 2024.
Vacancies on the board of police commissioners shall be appointed by the village president, with the advice and consent of the board of trustees. No such appointment, however, shall be made by any village president within thirty (30) days before the expiration of the village president's term of office.
Appointment to the board of police commissioners shall not preclude a member or secretary thereof from holding another appointed office or serving on the board of another commission within the village of Glendale Heights.
